I have loved being a nurse and being with nurses for over 30 years. I am grateful to the many teachers and patients who have trusted and taught me. As Florence Nightingale said, \"Nursing is an art ... the Finest Art\". The concept of sharing our care with others is of course at the heart of nursing. Happy Birthday Florence Nightingale, May 12, 1820. |
| Ayalanda Williams | Thanks |
| Cornelia Rappoport, RN-BC |
The heart of being a nurse is caring about others. An open heart is critical, but also the knowledge base that makes a nurse the critical thinker s/he is. Bravo to all the loving nurses who make such a difference in our lives! |

My Great Grandmother was a nurse and my Grandmother was a nurse. I really looked up to them and wanted to follow in their footsteps. I was a teenage mother but eventually I reached my dream and became an RN. The blessings I have received are as many as I\'ve given. I thank God for my very special gift of compassion for others. I work at Sutter Roseville Medical Center and there is no better place to work. God Bless all my fellow angels of mercy! We are the lucky ones! |
| angelika Schenk | I have been beautifully supported by palliative care nurses. Their warmth, understanding, thorough knowledge and skills, dedication and calm serene composure have allowed me to keep my father at home, and to be with him at home through his death. They are simply angels. |
| Rebecca | Thank you for your beautiful tribute. I have been a registered nurse for 40 years and this has allowed me to live a heart centered life......a gift that has given me love, peace and strength. |
| Lelania Kafiti, Cleveland Clinic Wellness Institute | Thank you to Rebecca Lee, RN, BSN, of University Hospital in Cincinnati for her loving energy and commitment to providing a safe, nurturing space for laboring moms and babies to enter the world. Becca, you are a great teacher and inspiration to those around you. We celebrate you! |

This call to mind memories of my father, dying in the hospital. It was a wake-up call for me to see him die in so many ways. All the ways that he (and me in his footsteps) had tried to be a “somebody” with the prowess of our intellect and our physical athleticism became irrelevant in those moments. All the work to create the image of a “me” or a “you” is really, at heart, a desire to experience the vitality of our spirit pouring through. When death was close at hand, both my father and I had the bravado of our “somebody” pretense pulled away. And it opened my eyes to see the many true heroes and their value all around me. I was humbled to the core by the nursing staff, who worked 18 hour shifts without blinking or thinking or a single complaint, there to attend to our every need without any greed or expectation in return. Where I thought I had gone the extra mile in my life, or aspired to be like people I saw on TV who I thought were making a big difference in the world, these nurses put me to shame. They accomplished, thanklessly, in one night what would have taken me a week to do, and did it unassumingly, with care, with true heroism. |
| Regina Hoefner-Notz | Nursing has been a wonderful career path, but more then that it has been a spiritual journey as well. There is something so intimate when you are involved with a person at one of the most vulnerable times of their lives. To be able to touch a life with just the immense power of caring is a gift that nursing has also developed into a unique science. I feel proud and blessed to be a nurse. |
| Debbie | Kind words, a gentle touch and a warm smile always touches a heart. |
| Anne Longo | What a beautiful video in all aspects: pictures, words, music, sentiments. Thank you for taking the time to create and share with nurses. |
| Dawn | Becoming a nurse changed my life. It is a sacred service to spend each working day in care for another. I\'m grateful for the opportunity. |
| jaci klas | I have always wanted to be a nurse for as long as I remember. Even though I may have bad days, there are alot of great moments. I love pediatrics and am proud to be a Children\'s hospital RN. |
| Joy | All I remember is that her name was Joy and she was a nurse at the Gunderson Clinic in LaCrosse, WI. She was an angel who looked straight into my mother\'s eyes when Mom made the decision to stop chemo treatment and to be at home to die, and gave her and the family the support we needed at this very difficult time. I have since become a nurse myself several years later, and will always remember and try to model the compassion that Joy, my angel, blessed us with that day. Thank you Joy! |
| Carole | I look at the young and older women who are joining the ranks today and they don\'t seem much different than me and my classmates of 50 years ago, except our clinical times seemed much more intense.. |
| Jane Sherman Enfield, CT |
Jane lovingly took care of our mother until the memonet she passed from this earth. Tirelessly, she found time to comfort her in every way and to see that her needs were taken care of. I respect and honor your devotion, Jane. You are an angel. Love, your sister Eileen |
| marilyn higgins | prior to having surgery I was petrified of the anesthesa but my nurse grabbed had firmly and said that it was \"her job" to make sure that everything was being watched and taken care of. It took an huge burden off of my shoulders. |
| Julie Frein | I want to comment on ALL the nurses in the Mayo Hyperbaric Medicine area. The nurses in our Hyperbaric area are by far the most caring and compassionate people I have known in my life. They make our patients feel like family and patients know that our team really does care. From singing Happy Birthday, to giving a hair wash to someone that has been in the hospital for weeks, to a hug or share a tear. At the end of their series of treatments our nurses even take turns to put on a cap and gown and give the patients a royal graduation send off. Our patients actually enjoy coming for treatments because our nurses go above and beyond. It is an honor to work with a group of such caring, understanding, and inspiring individuals. My hat is off to the Mayo Clinic Hyperbaric Medicine Nursing Team. Thanks to you! |

| Sandra Humphrey | I see the smiles and complete confidence my 89 year old mother beams upon her cancer treatment team who is seeing her again after 6 years remission. Their loving care allows her to surrender to the tough love of the chemo and feel held throughout the process. Bless their understanding that this is as critical a part of her treatment as any medicine. |
| Jim Liby | Thank you to all of the nurses and healthcare workers at Cape Fear Valley Health System for their outstanding job of taking care of me when I arrived at the ED with a heart attack. They had to do an emergency quadruple Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Surgery (CABG x 4) and my quick recovery was mostly due to the expert care and attention to detail from all the nurses that attended to me. My heart goes out to all of you (literally)! |
| Jaynelle Stichler, DNSc, RN, FACHE, FAAN | Nurses have made a signficant difference in my life and career. Some have cared for me, others have mentored me, many have lifted me up to reach heights I never thought possible, and most have brought joy into my lives. Nursing is a rich and full profession with many opportunities to show caring and compassion. This video is so very beautiful. Thank you for sharing these beautiful thoughts with us at this special time. JFS |

A very nice video! |
| Gigi | Great message - thanks once again HeartMath. I had a short stay in the hospital a few years ago and so did my husband. I watched as the nurses tended me during my stay and to my husband during his stay and I felt admiration for them. They don't even know us and yet there they are helping us in a vulnerable moment with a smile, warmth and care. I also saw some nurses that were clearly overwhelemed and when I took a moment to appreciate them it made a world of difference - and they returned the gesture with their care. I also found that they often knew more about the home-care process once you\'r released than the doctors did. They are the ones that are hands-on and I think it's great to really appreciate the work they do and to honor them by caring more for whoever we interact with. A little care goes a long way.
